ELFT (East London NHS Foundation Trust) is making a positive difference to thousands of people’s lives, providing support so that they can fulfil their potential and enjoy healthy lives.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Extended Primary Care Team within Community Health Newham, part of East London NHS Foundation Trust. This post is ideal for an Occupational Therapist with relevant experience to work within a community health setting and further develop their skills.
You will be supervised and supported by a Band 7 Occupational Therapist, work closely alongside other Occupational Therapists, as well as the MDT, and you will be given the opportunity to supervise junior staff. You will:
Provide a specialist, client-centred occupational therapy service to community health patients
Manage a defined caseload of complex cases independently, providing comprehensive occupational therapy assessment and intervention, evidencing problem-solving and clinical reasoning skills in line with evidence-based practice
Contribute to the development and evaluation of the occupational therapy service
Take responsibility for aspects of the day-to-day management of the service
Work closely with an MDT of community nurses, physiotherapists, rehabilitation support workers, trusted assessor technicians and nursing assistants
You should have at least 18-months post-registration experience, which should include working with a range of clients who require occupational therapy in a therapeutic setting. Effective time management and caseload management skills are essential, as are excellent communication skills and a commitment to the principles and practices of effective MDT working.
You will be joining a friendly and forward-thinking multidisciplinary service, which is committed to high standards of practice. We will support you in developing your clinical, supervisory and management skills. We will also offer you the opportunity to participate in clinical governance activities and other policy and service developments. We are committed to developing staff through regular supervision, appraisals and support in CPD opportunities.
Please give three reasons to shortlist me in the first paragraph of the supporting statement in order to be considered for shortlisting.
