ELFT (East London NHS Foundation Trust) is making a positive difference to thousands of people’s lives, providing support so that they can fulfil their potential and enjoy healthy lives.
ELFT has been named one of the HSJ Top 10 best places to work in healthcare, HSJ Provider Trust of the Year and graded as Outstanding by our regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in 2016. We believe that staff who feel valued by the Trust and are truly engaged in the organisation deliver better outcomes for our patients.
We have set ourselves the mission of providing the highest quality mental health and community care in England, and have embarked on an ambitious Quality Improvement Programme to transform the culture of the Trust to one of continuous improvement, delivered through participation of all staff and with service users, carers and families at the heart of our efforts to improve.

ELFT provides a wide range of community and inpatient services to children, young people, adults of working age, older adults and forensic services to the City of London, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Bedfordshire and Luton. The Coborn Centre for Adolescent Mental Health
Newham, East London
6-9 Months fixed term
The Coborn Centre for Adolescent Mental Health is an in-patient unit for young people aged between 12-18 years with acute mental health problems and highly complex mental health needs. The unit is comprised of a twelve bedded Acute in-patient ward, a sixteen bedded Psychiatric intensive care unit and six places in the Day service.
We would like a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our service for a six month fixed term contract. The post will offer the opportunity to work in, and develop, an innovative and expanding specialist service. This post offers you the opportunity to use your imagination and creativity to really help make a difference to the lives of these young people. It is a full-time post and the hours will be subject to the needs of the service and will include some evenings. Experience of working in a diverse multi-racial community and with young people with complex mental health needs is a benefit.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
