East London NHS Foundation Trust is excited to start their first ever band 6 mixed skilled Trust wide rotation. We are looking for Occupational Therapists who are keen to gain clinical experience as a Band 6 within forward thinking and supportive therapy Services. You will be part of well led, dynamic and friendly teams consisting of multidisciplinary practitioners, who constantly strive for integrated working optimising patient care and team morale. The teams works together to achieve both positive patient experience and outcomes. In all areas you will be able to access senior OT professional support and opportunities for clinical and professional training and development.

Working as an autonomous clinician and as an integral part of the Multidisciplinary team (MDT) you will be responsible for assessing patients, discussing patient agreed goals and expectations, deliver highly skilled treatments and provide education for patients and carers. You will also be responsible for ensuring safe and timely discharges for patients in each of the clinical areas.

Our ideal candidate will be qualified and state registered as an Occupational Therapist, clearly able to demonstrate a desire to actively participate in all aspects of the role. They must be willing and able to work in all areas of the rotation. The successful candidate must be an effective team player with excellent communication and organisational skills. They will be able to demonstrate clear clinical reasoning and have the ability to explain their decisions and actions in a way that all concerned will be able to understand. They must also be able to demonstrate evidence of recent learning and examples of continued professional and clinical development.

As this is a new rotation we will be starting with five rotations across mental and physical heath increasing to ten rotations by the end of the year. Through HEE funding successful candidates will receive a wide range of development opportunities. The rotational option will enable the development of a broad range of skills to support your career progression. Completing a mixed rotation at Band 6 level provides you with a well-rounded set of clinical skills and an opportunity to promote the value and positive impact Occupational Therapy can have on peoples lives. Many OT skills are transferable between clinical settings therefore increasing both your career prospects in the future: we actively encourage and support succession from Band 6 to Band 7 Occupational Therapist.
