Geographic areas our services cover

ELFT provides a wide range of community and inpatient services to children, young people, adults of working age, older adults and forensic services to the City of London, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Bedfordshire and Luton. We provide psychological therapy services to the London Borough of Richmond, as well as Children and Young People's Speech and Language Therapy in Barnet.

In addition, the Trust provides forensic services to the London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Waltham Forest, and some specialist mental health services to North London, Hertfordshire and Essex.

The specialist Forensic Personality Disorder service serves North London and the specialist Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME adult outpatient service serves North London and the South of England.

The Trust's specialist Mother and Baby Psychiatric Unit receives referrals from London and the South East of England.


 

The Tower Hamlets Community Mental Health Team for older adults requires an Occupational Therapist Band 5 to work with individuals who have mental ill health and /or dementia. The post is based in The Robinson Centre at Mile End Hospital.

The Occupational Therapist is part of the established multi-disciplinary team and the role is to undertake specific Occupational Therapy assessment and interventions of referred individuals, the emphasis is on supporting the person to achieve their goals in self-care, productivity and leisure to continue to live at home, via individual or group work. Joint working with other team members is encouraged. Also to liaise and offer advice to the individual and their carers with support from the Senior Occupational Therapist

You will join the Occupational Therapy team in the Tower Hamlets Community Mental Health Team consisting of Senior Occupational Therapist's and Occupational Therapy assistant's.

There are regular Occupational Therapy team meetings, opportunities for clinical and professional development, supervision and yearly appraisal and support from the Head Occupational Therapist.
