East London Community Eating Disorders Service for Children and Young People CAMHS

Paediatric Eating Disorders Nurse,

Grade: Band 6

0.6 WTE, 3 days per week

Can you help us meet the challenge?

This is an exciting opportunity to join our multi-disciplinary Community Eating Disorders Team (CEDS-CYP). The service provides evidence-based psychological interventions to young people with Eating Disorders and their families in the London Boroughs of Newham, Tower Hamlets and City & Hackney. The service serves a diverse population so the post involves the opportunity to work with a broad range of eating disorder presentations and comorbidities.

We hope you will enjoy being part of our innovative service that was launched in 2016 and is developing its scope and interventions, as well as its contribution to eating disorder research. We aim to offer a truly holistic and seamless service to families, both addressing their psychological and physical needs, so we are looking for a paediatric nurse who has excellent assessment and treatment skills, and who would also like to develop their expertise in working therapeutically with young people who have eating disorders and their families. A commitment and enthusiasm for working as part of a friendly and creative team is essential.

You will be part of a team of multidisciplinary professionals including Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing, Paediatrics, and Dietetics. We are looking for a reflective staff member who can work effectively within multi-disciplinary contexts, communicates well, enjoys working with individuals, families and groups, and will bring motivation, enthusiasm and commitment to the role. There is the added opportunity of being actively involved in the development of an outreach team for the service. Training opportunities are available to enhance specialist skills in Eating Disorder care. The working pattern is three days per week, and applicants interested in being seconded into this post from their current nursing position are also encouraged to apply, as well as external applicants.
