ELFT (East London NHS Foundation Trust) is making a positive difference to thousands of people’s lives, providing support so that they can fulfil their potential and enjoy healthy lives.

We are inviting applications for a new speciality doctor post within our mental health crisis assessment pathway.  This is an exciting development for the service as we significantly upgrade our crisis response capabilities and move crisis care away from the A&E department.  We are expanding our successful Crisis Line telephone assessment function to allow immediate or same-day face-to-face assessments for patients in crisis, based within our existing Home Treatment Team.  The successful candidate will work with three newly-appointed nurses, and under Consultant supervision, to provide safe, effective, and patient-centred crisis assessments, either in our office base or in the community, with the goal of reducing A&E attendances during the hours or operation.  This is negotiable at interview if required; please outline your preferences in the application.
The post is for one year in the first instance, with further significant developments in the boroughs Crisis pathways expecting during that time, and the possibility of extending the role into a substantive post.
