ELFT (East London NHS Foundation Trust) is making a positive difference to thousands of people’s lives, providing support so that they can fulfil their potential and enjoy healthy lives.

We currently have a vacancy as an Acting Band 6 level Clinical Practice Lead, and we are looking for experienced individual who wish to develop their career pathway and build upon existing skills and experiences. Inpatient Ward - Adult. Globe Ward is a 19-bed acute admissions ward for Male patients aged between 18 and 65 covering the localities of Bethnal Green and Bow & Popular. This Role is a fixed team six month acting up Band 6 position.

Tower Hamlets Centre for Mental Health provides inpatient adult mental health services to this historic Borough of London which is one of the most ethnically diverse urban areas in the world. As well as comprising the grandeur of Canary Wharf, the Borough also has some of the highest levels of social deprivation and inequality in the UK.

The inpatient unit, based at Mile End Hospital, is one of the best in the country, with an excellent reputation for clinical leadership and excellence.

You will be a highly motivated and dynamic individual who is able to establish and maintain systems that deliver high quality care and treatment, including physical care, evidenced by effective documentation and statutory compliance, and that support and inspire staff through formal and informal supervision and coaching and reflective practice.

You will lead on the promotion of a therapeutic environment on the ward, ensuring that there is meaningful engagement and one to one time spent with patients, groups and daytime activities. You will manage effective lines of communication with members of the wider multidisciplinary team and other agencies, working with the consultant, the team, the Ward Manager and the Matron to effectively manage bed occupancy and discharge planning, and maintain task-focus, effective team work and group cohesion in the context of, at times, a highly unpredictable working day.

You will need to be highly resilient and resourceful, able to problem-solve and think on your feet, experienced in recognizing the signs of stress in self and others, and in teams and organizations, taking appropriate action to manage problems, keeping yourself and the team and the wider organisation effective and focused at all times, with the patient and the staff experience at the centre of everything you do.
