ELFT (East London NHS Foundation Trust) is making a positive difference to thousands of people’s lives, providing support so that they can fulfil their potential and enjoy healthy lives.
CAMHS Emotional & Behavioural Team (EBT2, 0.8 WTE AND CDC 0.2 WTE) Clinical Psychologist Band 8a (1.00wte) permanent position.
If you are looking to consolidate your broad based clinical psychology skills within a supportive CAMHs environment, this is the role for you. The Emotional & Behavioural Team are a multidisciplinary team working with children, young people and their families within a multi-agency context. The clinical work is rewarding and multi-faceted, tapping your skills at multiple levels using strong theory practice links. We are looking for a dynamic and organised Clinical Psychologist to join our friendly and professional team. The post-holder will be offering comprehensive assessment and treatment to a wide variety of presentations as well as providing some input (2 sessions) to the local CDC. The post-holder will require a high degree of professional autonomy, self-management and drive with the ability to work well in a team and within the multi-agency environment.
To support you in this role, you will receive regular, separate clinical and management supervision sessions, access to a variety of CPD sessions, and annual performance appraisals. The work of the team is managed and supervised by a Clinical Team Lead who is strongly supported by our experienced Lead for Psychological Therapies, who is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and who is involved in all aspects of service development and delivery. Our PTL is keen to ensure that all professional groups feel strongly supported and we are currently in the process of setting up a bi-monthly clinical psychology professional network group across Bedfordshire CAMHs. You will be able to benefit from the support of other clinical psychologists and will have the opportunity to participate in regular staff development opportunities. We currently have 4 Clinical Psychologists working as CTLs and 4 band 7 8a clinical psychologists across the service. We offer regular placements to clinical psychology trainees and have strong links with the University of Hertfordshire course.
The Senior Management Team within Beds CAMHS is committed to staff development: there are regular opportunities for staff to apply for appropriate training courses, including IAPT, and to get involved in quality improvement initiatives and new developments in the service, some associated with a higher banding during the time of the project. We also have a significant number of positions in the trust for clinicians up to band 8D, opening up paths for promotion for ambitious members of staff. The East London NHS Trust prioritizes staff wellbeing and we are introducing a range of staff wellbeing initiatives to support this.
This post is based in Bedford, Bedfordshire, close to the M1 and easily reached by rail and car from North London, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire. The clinic also has the added benefit of free parking and all clinicians are supported by very dedicated and efficient administrative staff. Whilst most of the work will be based in the clinic, access to a car is helpful as some travel will be required to our other multi-agency sites.
It is recommended you apply for the post as soon as possible. We have the right to close adverts once we receive 50 applications. Off line or late applications will be not accepted.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
