ELFT (East London NHS Foundation Trust) is making a positive difference to thousands of people’s lives, providing support so that they can fulfil their potential and enjoy healthy lives.
1 full-time equivalent CAMHS Practitioner post, Band 6 in CAMH Schools Liaison Team (CSLT): With a recognized professional qualification/registration relevant to child and adolescent mental health, such as a Degree/ Diploma or equivalent in Social Work, RMHN, BACP or BABCP accredited Psychotherapist or Counsellor, or Systemic Practitioner.
Closing date: Sunday 21st September 2019
Interview date: Friday 27th September 2019
We would like you to join our CSL Team to develop and deliver mental health training, continuing support and consultation for schools across Luton. Luton has a diverse and vibrant community, which will require candidates to show an awareness of and interest in supporting these communities.
You will work with schools and other appropriate settings to encourage and help them develop a whole school approach to emotional wellbeing and mental health. You will also provide child mental health assessments and effective brief therapeutic support to prevent moderate to severe mental health problems developing.
You will be required to be flexible, and be able to travel across Luton to deliver training and attend meetings. The post is embedded across schools, and you will have an attached base in Luton CAMHS, and be part of the CSLT team.
You will need a relevant professional registration and qualification, with excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. You will need experience in working with children and families, preferably in a school setting. You will need to be able to operate confidently in an environment where IT is the main method of record keeping, communication and program management.
We welcome and encourage applications from candidates who are bi-lingual, and candidates from BME communities, including the South Asian community.
