ELFT (East London NHS Foundation Trust) is making a positive difference to thousands of people’s lives, providing support so that they can fulfil their potential and enjoy healthy lives.

We are seeking a highly creative and clinically experienced psychologist to work as part of the Psychiatric Liaison Service for Luton adult mental health services.

Services in Luton and Bedfordshire have been undergoing a significant transformation since being provided by East London Foundation Trust in April 2015. Rated by the CQC in 2016 as Outstanding, the Trust is ambitious in its vision for services, and has an inspiring Quality Improvement programme recognised nationally and internationally.

This is an exciting new post aimed at delivering a comprehensive psychological service which will enable the team to meet the standards for a Core 24 service as defined by current guidelines for Liaison Psychiatry Services. The postholder will contribute a psychological perspective to multidisciplinary service development and delivery. They will embrace innovation, and be able to engage the psychology workforce and multidisciplinary colleagues in reviewing pathways to meet the needs of our service users. They will welcome the challenge of developing services in a complex and diverse community, and work with local partners to create services that engage our community and meet their needs in innovative ways. Experience in supervision, consultation, leadership, and service development is essential, along with highly developed clinical skills in assessment and intervention for people presenting in secondary care mental health services.

We welcome applications from candidates who are ready to take the next step in their career progression by moving up to an 8b post who may have significant experience in areas outside of liaison psychiatry services, but whose skills will be a good fit to the demands of this post.

Luton boasts excellent transport links by road, rail and air, and the post offers first class personal and professional development opportunities in an award-winning Trust. The post will benefit from a Trust-wide governance network of senior psychologists/psychotherapists leading services from a variety of theoretical models and with a wealth of service delivery expertise.
