An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mental Health Clinician/ Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Practitioner/ Teacher (MBSR) in Primary Care in Tower Hamlets GP surgeries.

The successful applicant will have experience of working as a Mental Health Clinician  and Mindfulness Practitioner. Applicants should be highly motivated, have sound clinical skills, an ability to act on their own initiative and ability to develop good working relationships with users and other professionals.
The post requires that the MBSR practitioner/teacher will run 3 (to 4) MBSR groups a day for patients with medically unexplained symptoms (MUS) in primary care GP practices.  The MBSR therapist will be trained in a manualised approach and will receive specialist supervision.

The opportunity is available as a one year fixed term contract, 15 hours per week, Band 7.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
